Lake Bridgeport

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 21)

GOOD. Water normal stain; 80 degrees; 7.27 feet low. Both ends of the lake are stirred up after the recent rains. All ramps are good, but check ramp status before heading out. Sand bass have been active, chasing shad on top early and late. Hybrids are wandering but you may find some around the sand bass. Largemouth bass are good with topwaters early, switching to shad colored crankbaits close to main lake points later in the day. Crappie continue to be quite good around the 380 bridge, docks and main lake brush piles with minnows and jigs are the preferred baits. Catfish have been quiet, look for them to be quite active in the next few weeks as the water cools a bit. Cut Shad will be the best bet. Report by Keith Bunch, Lake Bridgeport Guide Service.
