Lake Bridgeport

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 10)

GOOD. Water stained; 62 degrees; 15.14 feet below pool. The low water ramps at Wise County Park and U.S. Route 380 is the best for launching. The ramp at the dam is also usable. Sand bass and hybrids can be found shallow early. Look for birds working and try a swimbait or crankbait in Shad colors. Switch to a chartreuse slab as the fish back off into deeper water. Largemouth bass are up in the shallows. Try soft plastic lizards around suspected bedding areas, flat billed crankbaits and swimbaits in deeper water. Crappie are actively spawning across the lake. The spawn may be close to finishing in the north but still going strong in the southern end. Minnows and jigs fished shallow are your best bet. Report by Keith Bunch, Lake Bridgeport Guide Service.
