Lake Bridgeport

Fishing Report from TPWD (Oct. 16)

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 77 degrees; 12.08 feet below pool. All ramps are open. Sand Bass and hybrids have been good on slabs near the main lake structure. The fish are starting to group up a bit more with the cooler weather. Hybrids are mixed in with the Sandies, so be ready for a big fish at any time. Colder weather up north will push our birds back to the lake for the winter. Start keeping an eye for them working bait and fish. Largemouth bass have been good early on topwaters like spooks and buzzbaits. As the sun rises, work main lake points with square bill crankbaits and jerkbaits. Crappie continue to be good on minnows and jigs. The 380 bridge and offshore brush piles have been prime areas. Report by Keith Bunch, Lake Bridgeport Guide Service.
